A 2-day Chinese Cultural Tour, right here in Mississauga
On the weekend of July 23 - 24, 2005, thousands of guests would be able to enjoy a Chinese cultural tour at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga.
Mississauga Board of Chinese Professionals & Businesses (CPB) is proud to co-organize the 2nd Mississauga Chinese Arts Festival with the Living Arts Centre, with special support of The Ontario Trillium Foundation. Like last year, the Festival will focus on presenting the richness and wonders of Chinese culture and tradition as expressed through art, craft, and cuisine.
There are four Feature Performances for this year's Festival, and tickets are already on sale at the Box Office of Living Arts Centre:
Saturday, July 23, 2005:
- Chinese Cultural Dance from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
(Tickets: $20, $30, $40)
- Charity Cantonese Opera Performance from 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
(Tickets: $30, $40, $60)
- Proceeds of this show will be donated to Mississauga Mayor's Hazel McCallion Endowment Fund and Smile China.
Sunday, July 24, 2005:
- Musical Concert of Chinese Folk Songs from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
(Tickets: $30, $40, $60)
- Hong Kong Pop Culture Concert from 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
(Tickets: $30, $40, $60)
100 Guests per night would be able to enjoy a special Wooden Bowl Dinner with VIP tickets for one of the above evening performances at the special price of $88 per package. This special meal is prepared by the chefs of our Title Sponsor, Legend Chinese Restaurant.
There are a variety of other FREE admission programs, including:
- Talk shows by media personality Tin-Chi Lau and Allen Leung
- A fashion show organized by designer Alice Ko, featuring young fashion designers
- A feng shui session by neuromancer Paul Ng
- Cooking demonstrations organized by Professor and Chef Bill Wong
- Chinese Kung Fu performances.
There is also a display of bonsai and over 50 exhibits showcasing Chinese arts and crafts, plus delicious Chinese cuisine and specialty drinks. Festival hours are:
